Massive thanks to everyone who made it to the National Food Sovereignty Gathering in Hebden Bridge. It was amazing to see all of us engaged, sharing, dancing, eating and planning our next steps to achieve food sovereignty in the UK and globally.
The UK Food Sovereignty Movement is moving forwards! We have a plan to work on: National Food Policy based on food sovereignty principles, land reform, reclaiming our land and seeds diversity and strengthening the movement to make sure that it tackles political, economic and social structures of oppression and exclusion.
We will continue building food systems that focuses on people while respecting nature, gives control of resources to local food producers and providers. We will resist governance structures, agreements and practices that depend on and promote unsustainable and inequitable international trade, and give power to remote and unaccountable corporations.
In active solidarity!!!
